What is First Appeal ?
As per RTI Act 2005, every RTI application must be answered within 30 days from the date of filing. Some Public Information officers (PIO) don't respond within the time frame or provide insufficient information. In such cases we need to file first appeal.
First appeal has to be filed with Appellate Authority who is a senior officer in rank to the PIO. It must be filed after 30 days of filing RTI application.
