my mom and dad (who are teacher by profession ) have been trying to apply for passport for last one year. but the passport application process is so complicated that they are unable to get it done. they were sent back 3 times while they traveled 400 kms from lakhimpur to guwahati. i have been trying to book online appointments at psk for last 2 months but not getting a slot. i have following queries

passport given for renewal since 18th dec 2012. usual procedure time is 30-40 days as told. the status is not updated for 1.5 months. police verification done twice at permament address and current address both. everything was completed 14th jan 2013. kindly update me the status as i am a student and have to attend a prestigious international conference for which my research paper has been selected. i have also bought the air-tickets on my expense. the date of travel is 12 march to germany before which i also have to apply for schengen visa. please process fast and update the current status to me at the earliest.

I have applied since november 2012. after police verification i can't receive any information. kindly provide what is the progress my application.
